When I sat down to blog about my fantastic friends & family and my cooking shower that occurred over the weekend I felt called to read through a few on my reader before posting. I was shocked and saddened to read of the passing of Lisa over at Bumpkin on a Swing. She fought a short 3 week battle with ovarian cancer and went to meet the Lord on Sunday.
I started to cry for someone I've never met but feel like I knew well. She was an inspiring blogger who chronicled life on the gulf coast. She showed amazing strength and courage and a passion for the little things in life. Blog world is an amazing place if you sit down and think about it. We get to "meet" people from all over the world and read a little bit about their daily lives. I feel blessed to have my own littler corner of connection with my readers.
Please send your thoughts and prayers to Captain John and the rest of the bumpkins family. The kind comments and posts of beautiful pictures will be greatly missed.

I, too, am deeply saddened by Lisa's passing. Although I'd never met her in person, I felt as though she was my friend, if only in the blogging world. Her sweet and sometimes witty comments would brighten my day. I will miss her and her wonderful posts dearly.
Wow - this was the first I'd heard of it. I had unsubscribed a while back and am just blown away. She will be sorely missed!
