If you were to scroll through my bird pod (When the badger gave me my ipod for Christmas he had "Bird Pod" engraved on the back. Apparently he struggled with the decision to say Bird Pod or iBird. I would have loved it either way.) you would discover an eclectic mix that ranges from bluegrass to blues, from country to classic rock, and from beach music and pop to classical and beyond. I truly have a respect for all kinds of music.
The older I get the more I realize just how your tastes in music change. While I keep some of the old standbys I hardly ever listen to anymore on for the memories, (ahem, 50 cent's "In da Club" transports me back to fraternity parties in the hut but that's a whole different post) I find myself drawn to more mellow melodies.
While watching the Twilight movie last night (to get my Edward fix since I'm on a mandatory halftime from the series) upon hearing Clair de Lune I realized I had never shared with you one of the gem's of my state, WCPE, The Classical Station. WCPE is a listener supported 24 hour classical music station that streams anywhere in the world from their website (or to your ipod if you have one of those fancy new ones.) If you were to get into my car on any given day there is a 90% chance the dial would be set to this station. While my nanny kid's request The Black Eyed Peas, I tend to leave it here. Not only does it keep me calm, I think its good for them. (My 13 year old self is screaming at this one and my parents are probably saying "I told you so!") Just as it was good for me (and usually against my stubborn will) to sit through all those symphony concerts as a child. I've come to appreciate it now.
So if you're feeling like you need to relax a bit, take a look at them. If you don't have access to streaming music, itunes has a great offering of "50 Greatest Classical Pieces" for $9.99. I promise it will be well worth it!

I know I'm about 6 months behind on this comment but, was anyone else disappointed by the casting of Bella in the Twilight movie? I thought her look was perfect, very similar to what I pictured in my head while reading but her voice and cadence just didn't fit. Carslile was another disappointment to me as well, but I thought they did a perfect job with Jacob & Edward. Just another instance of "the movie playing in my head while reading the book was better!"
