menu for the week

I've seen other bloggers do it and I love their ideas so I've jumped on the meal planning post bandwagon. I did it without blogging about it this fall and loved it. Clip coupons, plan the menu & shop on Sunday and there is no guessing during the week ... pure genius. (Makes life easy especially now that I wont be getting home before 7:40 most every night, ugh.) We veered off the bandwagon over the holidays but back we go! I'm going to try and post what I'm cooking for the week every Sunday (to keep me accountable) & hopefully we'll get a nice little dinner-dialogue going! The following week I'll give you a recap of the recipies ... either a nom, nom, nom or vom, vom, vom. Ready, set, go!

Sunday:
Chicken & Dumplings via Cooking Light

Monday:
Cider Glazed Chicken w/ Brown Butter Pecan Rice
& green beans

Tuesday:
Tomato & Sausage Risotto from Smitten Kitchen
& a salad

Wednesday:
Pan Sauteed Trout w/ Capers via Cooking Light (sorry can't find the recipe on the interwebs!)

Thursday:
girls night out for me!

Friday:
Grilled Flank Steak w/ Roasted Potatoes & Butternut squash

Saturday:
We're having our parents over for a dinner to share some of our yummy honeymoon wine finds and are thinking about Paella. any great recipe ideas?

Cheers to a great week!

This is such a great idea that I should totally incorporate into my life! I always feel super unorganized halfway through the week when it comes to meals...

Your choices all sound super yummy! Esp. the cider chicken, yum!

I love hearing about everyone's menus. I totally want to do this, but I only make about 1 or 2 meals a week, so not very exciting. My goal this year is to try 50 new recipes, so I'll be sure to add some of these to my list. The cider glazed chicken looks amazing! Thanks for sharing!
