Mineral Make-Up

I have been using Bare Minerals for almost 5 years now and am a huge fan. I love the way it feels weightless and almost non-existent on my face. With Bare Minerals being the ground breaker in the mineral make up arena, many companies have followed suit and developed their own versions. I'm running low on my "fairly light" and have begun to wonder, is there a new product out there that might be better than my standard? To answer this question I turn to you blogland.

Do you have a product you'd recommend? Have you tried others and gone back to where you started?
I recently saw an ad for Clinique's new mineral make up that comes in a "less mess" compact. Anyone tried it yet?

Do you have a drugstore brand that floats your boat and keeps a few extra pennies in your purse?

Thank you!

I use Smashbox Halo hyrdrating powder and it is incredible! One of my favorite things is the compact, which is just like that Clinique one. The shaving feature is sooooo nice and makes you use less every time so it lasts longer!

I've used Physicians formula from walgreens/target/walmart for years. When BM first came out, I tried it but it's got something in it that made my face itch...so I tried the drugstore (and cheaper) version, and I haven't looked back! It comes in an egg shaped container.

Haven't tried the new Clinique, but I love them, and use them almost exclusively, so I'd bet it's good!

I use Philosophy's "The Supernatural Airbrushed Canvas.

It's not mineral make-up but it's light and provides great coverage - and it's super fast!

Here is a link for it:

So, I also use Bare Minerals but I've found that Maybelline's mineral veil is virtually the same but I even use it as concealer! Hope that helps :)

I really like the Body Shop's version. I have been using that for about a year and a half now.

I also tried Bare Minerals before, (with the free week's sample), and I liked that too. Though I did not like their mineral concealer at all. Did not work!!

Since Clinique is new, they might have some promotional offers?? Maybe you can take advantage of that!

I love love Bare minerals...although $25 is rather steep for powder...it lasts me a really long time, because I'm very sparing with it...because it can look cakey if not applied well. I have tried other brands, but consistently go back to BM. good luck in ur search!!

The mineral makeup does not seem to work for me, sadly. But I hear good things about Physician's Formula.

I use BM, but I am currently on the hunt for a new foundation. I don't feel like I am getting enough coverage from BM. I will be hitting up Sephora soon for lots of samples!

I always found BM a little too heavy for my taste. I recently tried out Avons mineral makeup and LOVED it.

I use BM also, but I'm about to run out. I wonder if the clinique works?

Have you tried BM well rested? If you don't want to wear any eyeshadow put it on and it makes a HUGE difference. I swear by it. Must. Try.

And if you try the clinique and it works, let me know!

I'm curious to know if Clinique's version is any good. My problem with Clinique in the past has been with the colors - they always seemed to be too yellow-y/orange-y for my skin tone. I've been using BM for about a year now. I just purchased the new matte version last week, and the containers finally have the twist top - took them long enough to do both things. The matte has been good for my oily tzone area. However, I noticed that they reduced the container size for the same price, and that REALLY irritates me! Look forward to hearing what you end up trying.

This Clinque is the same as the lose powder (I found this out this past weekend when I went to check it out)...as they have fazed that out. I use Laura Mercier and I LOVE her lose powder. BUT I might try Puttin'on The GRITS recommendation b/c the price of Laura Mercier's is CRAZY! And Smashbox Halo is even MORE crazy!!!!!!!! The Clinique is priced fairly I think.

I love True minerals- I love that it comes in a pressed version which is so handy & it's infused with antioxidants that help with fine lines & sun damage!
