I need a little help ...

(Badger, if you are reading this, please skip this post. Thank you.)
Bloggies, I need your creative help! The Badger & I will be celebrating our 3 year (woah) anniversary within the next month. I need some super suggestions as to what I should do for him! Remember, it needs to be VERY budget friendly as I still don't have a job!

Any and every suggestion is appreciated! Keep in mind I am not terribly crafty (but do follow instructions well) & I like to support the "little-guy" (aka. etsy sellers, bloggers with businesses, local businesses, etc.)

Thank you, Grazi, Merci, Gracias, Asante ... (anyone else loving the "Thanks-A-Lot" girl scout cookies?)

Hmmm. What kinds of things is he into?

Do you guys do the traditional gifts? Isn't the third anniversary gift supposed to be leather? How about a nice monogrammed shaving bag? Or if he plays golf, maybe a golf glove?

We don't do traditional gifts for anniversaries so my first thought would be to good a wonderful dinner for him complete with his favorite dessert.

Lots of cool free/el cheapo things in town right now - the Pirates exhibit at the NC Museum of History, Monsters vs. Aliens at iMax @ Marbles (only costs $1 extra to go to Marbles after), and the Carolina Basketball museum in Chapel Hill... which no, isn't Wolfpack Red, but still Tobacco Road cool if you're a fan of basketball history in general!

Only problem could be budget, but you could hire someone to come to your house and give him a massage. Have champagne and finger foods for the two of you to share before or after. Maybe there's a massage school nearby that has students at a cheaper rate? Romantic and relaxing. Then you could cook him dinner after.

I say just bake something! Oh, or maybe make up an entire picnic and enjoy a lovely afternoon outside. Do not forget your champagne!!

My husband and I don't really do actual presents on our anniversary - and we re-iterate this to each other every year just to make sure the other person doesn't do it. Instead, we enjoy a nice meal together and make each other homemade cards...very cheesy, but incredibly sweet and his cards always bring tears to my eyes! And cooking a thoughtful dinner/dessert is always nice - or you guys can cook it together! My husband and I cooked steaks (there was an amazing deal on rib eyes at Whole Foods this past weekend), roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus, and opened a bottle of wine for a stay-at-home, stress-free meal on Saturday, and it was perfect!

For something special and economical (don't like the word cheap) we like to have a "bed in".
Yep, take a day, stay in bed all day!
Buy snacks that you can graze on all day, have some champagne and watch movies on the laptop.
Crackers and cheese, (boursin is good), hummus and pita, grapes, strawberries, all great and very inexpensive!!
Happy Anniversary!
