What's in the Kitchen Wednesday: Pumpkin Ale

With a rainy day on tap, and the first day below 80 degrees, I decided it was high time to share with you one of my favorite fall treats, Pumpkin Ale!

My tip top favorite Pumpkin brew comes from the great state of NC. It may be hard to find for you out of state-ers! (Heck, sometimes I have a hard time finding it here!) Cottonwood Pumpkin Spice Ale. "Pumpkin Pie i n a bottle" says the BF. {photofrom}

Now I've checked out several of the national brands (Post Road, Harvest Moon) but I haven't found one that was close to the flavor of Cottonwood.

My first runner up is Michelob's Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale. It had just the right balance of pumpkin-y (not a word, I know) and spicy flavors. It's distributed nationally too!

Now if it only would get a little cooler so the fall feeling can really set in!

Where do you buy your Cottonwood Pumpkin Spice Ale? Sounds good!

Wow, I do not really drink, but anything pumpkin catches my eye! Does this actually taste like Pumpkin Pie? I have never heard of it until this post!

Oo, I wonder if I can find that anywhere in NYC? The Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale we tried a little bit back was not so good - no pumpkin taste, just ale-y!
